Below are links to recordings made at the Ice House in Akron’s near North side. The Ice House is exactly what it is. . . the old ice storage facility for (apparently) a large area of Akron, OH. The building is immense. An open concrete and brick structure probably about 80 to 100 feet high inside. There must be about a million cubic feet of open, hard reflecting space in that room. It sounds incredible in there.
I recorded these tracks using a stereo pair of microphones widely separated. Edited and mastered using Audacity. No fx, no enhancing. The room speaks for itself.

I’ve been tweaking on this layout. Just trying to make it work better. In the meantime, check out the video on the right. There are 3 or 4 more in the series. They’re all really good.
I have few photos of recent projects to keep you amused.

This is Julia's first sewing project. She used the sewing machine by herself (mostly).
Julia drew the character, and I helped her sew it. She actually did a good bit of the sewing by herself, first time. She drew the features with a sharpie. I sewed the mouth. It was a really fun time. We’ll be making more stuff soon.

Julia's bear that I made her for Christmas.
This is the first teddy bear I’ve made in years. Very simple. Quite easy. Julia asked me to make one for her after she heard me ask Kaya if he remembered the silver one I made for him when he was 2 or 3 years old.

Brian's 'potholder'

Brian's 'potholder', the other side.
I was telling my friend Brian about what I was up to, and he asked me to make a potholder for him. Well, here it is. I’m going to suggest that he just hang it up somewhere and not try to grab hot stuff with it.

My workspace at the moment.
Well, that’s about it for this post. I’m going to get away from spending so much time at the computer and get back to making things. As promised, I’ll document the process and share it with y’all.
Goodnight.
Rob here with a brand new shiny blog. Day one.
I’m going to present some of the things that I’ve made in the past, and things that I’m in the process of making. The new stuff will be documented with photos, video, and descriptions of the process of creation. I’m going to have to get in the habit of taking pictures. Usually, I get in the zone and don’t think about such things. Well, it’s a new day. Let’s get busy!
